Course Adjustment:
Late Registration

Registration will be deemed to be late if done after the registration deadline – usually three weeks after the start of each semester.

Late Adjustments to Registration

Requests for adjustments to registration will be deemed to be late if made after the add/drop deadline – usually three weeks after the start of each semester.
Course Adjustment:
Additional Courses

This request must be made on the "Student Administration System (SAS); it cannot be done not on this system (ASRS). If SAS is closed, you may use ASRS to request a "Late Registration of the desired course(s).

Additional Courses are those taken in excess of the number of credit courses need or normally permitted in any semester or academic year.
Course Adjustment:
Course not for credit

A Course not for Credit is a course taken that will not contribute to the determination of the GPA or to the class of degree that a student obtains.
Course Adjustment:
Course substitution(s)

A Course Substitution occurs where a course required for a programme is replaced by another course.
Examinations:
Deferral of Sitting Exams

Deferral of Exam(s) occurs when students are permitted to postpone sitting of an exam until the next available date. Deferral of exam(s) applies to mid-term exams, other type of course work, as well as final exams.

Exams Only (Exams without attending lectures)

Exams Only permits students to complete a course without attending instructional sessions.

Carry-over Coursework

Carry-over Coursework occurs where a student is permitted to transfer grades for coursework completed in one semester to the next semester or academic year.

Leave of Absence

Leave of Absence is a period for which students may apply for time off from their programme.
Student Status:
Exemption(s) Only

Where a student has completed a course equivalent to a required course, Exemptions Only (Exemption without credit) eliminates the need to register for the required course. However, no credits will be given for either course.

Credits Exemptions

Where a student has completed a course equivalent to a required course, Credit Exemptions eliminates the need to register for the required course. Credits will be given for the required course.
Student Status:
Waiver of Requirement to Withdraw

Waiver of Requirement to Withdraw permits a student to continue in a programme despite having received a letter requiring him/her to withdraw from his/her programmme of study.
Student Status:
Voluntary Withdrawal

A request for Voluntary Withdrawal is made by students who are unable to continue or who wish to withdraw from the programme in which they are registered.
External Affairs:
Study at another University - Complete Outstanding Courses

Complete Outstanding Courses at another university permits a student (normally one who is finalizing) to do a few courses at another university.
External Affairs:
Study at another UWI Campus - Open Campus

This request applies to students, enrolled at Mona, who wish to pursue a part of their programme at the Open Campus (formerly UWIDEC).
External Affairs:
Study at another University - Exchange Programme

Exchange Programmes are agreements approved by UWI and another university that allow students from each university to complete part of their programme at the other university.

Study at another UWI Campus - Cave Hill/St. Augustine

This request applies to students, enrolled at Mona, who wish to pursue a part of their programme at Cave Hill or St. Augustine.
Registration:
Change of Status

Only TLI students can request "Change of Status on this system. Other students must use the SAS.

A change of status refers to switching between part-time and full-time.
Examination:
Resit Exams without Academic Penalty

Resitting of Exam without Academic Penalty permits students to sit an examination and to replace the failing mark with the mark gained without having the failing mark counted in the calculation of their GPA.
External Affairs:
Study at another University - Study for a Semester(s)

Study for a Semester(s) at another University permits students to complete part of their programme at another university with which UWI does not have an exchange programme.
